
B.Ed. (Bachelor of Education) is a professional course that prepares teachers for secondary and senior secondary school level according to National Council of Teacher Education (NCTE). This degree is mandatory for teaching in higher primary, secondary and senior secondary schools in India. The program focuses on enabling student-teacher to reflect critically on the perspectives of education and integrate theory and practices to facilitate active engagement of learners for the knowledge creation. Minimum qualification required for entry in B.Ed. course is Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) or Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.), Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com.). The students for Arts stream are prepared to teach subjects like History, Civics, Geography and Languages, while those who are from science background are prepared to teach subjects including Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology and students for Commerce stream are prepared to teach subjects like Commerce, Economics etc.

Eligibility Criteria
Candidates with at least 50% marks either in bachelor’s degree in Science, Social Sciences, Humanities, Commerce, Home Science, B.B.A., B.C.A., or Bachelor’s in Engineering or Technology with specialization in Science and Mathematics with 55% marks or any other qualification declared equivalent thereto are eligible for admission to the programme.
The reservation & relaxation for S.C./S.T., O.B.C., P.W.D., and other categories shall be as per rules of the central/state government, whichever is applicable.
Admission to the B.Ed. course shall be made strictly according to rules/guidelines framed by Panjab University/Punjab Government. There are a total of 200 seats for the B.Ed. Course in this college. Out of the total, 26 seats will be filled under the Management Quota as per the Punjab Govt./Panjab University norms. The Management Quota Seats will be filled according to Punjab Govt. directions. Students willing to get admission to Management Quota seats will have to apply to the College directly.
The admission to the course shall be open to all the eligible candidates. 85% of seats will be reserved for candidates from within the state, and 15% will be open to candidates of other states on an all-India basis.
Admission is based on passing in Entrance test.
