Research Development Cell (RDC)
The Research Cell has been established to promote, monitor and address research activities at Guru Nanak college of Education DalewalHoshiarpur.The Cell meets to discuss various aspects of research programme on a timely basis. Objectives of the Cell are to monitor and administer Research programs for faculty and students and encourage them to have rational approach in their academic activities. The cell also focuses on research activities by providing the necessary provisions to faculty and students at large including reputed journals and encyclopedia, psychology tests, scales, interest in the library, well equipped computer lab etc. Research cell will assign guides, specify research topics, synopsis preparation, sharing the status of ongoing/completed research project/programme, conduct pre-RDC meeting.
NTA Classroom
The National Testing Agency (NTA) is an organization that conducts entrance exams for educational institutions in India. To improve equity and quality in educationNTA Classroom has been proposed for the students and teachers of sri guru nanakdev education trust for helping them in qualifying the national eligibility test (NET) NTA Classroom will create a system which will promote teaching (by NET Qualified Teachers), learning (by educators and student teachers M.Ed for paper 1&2 ,B.Ed for paper 1 only). NTA strongly believes in quality, efficiency, effectiveness and equity .To practice these values, the institution offers the one hour lecture according the suitability of time table. The one major aspect of this college is to provide coaching totally free of cost. Different parts of examination are divided among the teachers with their areas of specialization and comfort. Weekly duties of the teachers are assigned and they give their services in special fully internet equipped classroom. Moreover, Whatsapp group is also created to share topics and notes which are taught in the classroom. Also, feedback is taken from the learners for the smooth functioning of the NTA Classroom.
Student Mentoring System (SMS)
The Student Mentoring System has been envisaged in the institution with a unique motto of inclusive development of students. Every Teacher in the institution acts as a mentor of a specific batch of students at the point of entry stage and guides them through the entire period of the course duration till the mentee completes the course. The Mentor-Mentee dichotomy is carved in such a fashion that the Mentor establishes a strong relationship with the Mentee in multiple roles as a caring parent, intelligent guide and affectionate companion. The mentor-mentee ratio is 1:25 . Mentors keep a record of the profile of students that consists of details of entry-level academic details, other personal proficiencies, attributes, socioeconomic status and personal information including particulars of parents and siblings. Mentor groups meet fortnightly and discuss curricular and extracurricular matters of students. The group also discusses general grievances if any and finds solutions for the same. Mentor gives guidance required for better academic performance through necessary tips and motivates students.
English Language Enrichment Classes (ELEC)
The college has initiated a free English language skills course aimed at enhancing students' proficiency in the language. This course operates by offering a structured curriculum covering various aspects of English language learning, including grammar, vocabulary, reading comprehension, writing skills, and verbal communication. The course likely incorporates a blend of in-class instruction and interactive activities to engage students actively in learning. It may also utilize online resources, such as digital platforms or e-learning modules; to supplement classroom learning and provide additional practice opportunities outside of scheduled sessions. The working of the course involves dedicated instructors who guide students through the learning process, providing feedback and support to help them improve their language skills. Assessment methods, such as quizzes, assignments, and possibly examinations, are likely used to track progress and evaluate proficiency levels. Overall, the course aims to empower students with essential English language skills necessary for academic success and effective communication in professional settings. It emphasizes practical application and skill development to ensure that students gain confidence and competence in using the English language. The course's free accessibility underscores the college's commitment to enhancing students' abilities and prepares them for the future professional challenges.
Free coaching for CET (Common Entrance Test for B.Ed. 2024)
Preparing for B.Ed. entrance exams requires a tactical approach. In lieu of this, Guru Nanak College of Education, Dalewalis taking some imperative steps to provide expert guidance and mentorship to the students for CET (Common Entrance Test). The main purpose of the free coaching is to familiarize students with the exam pattern and syllabus. Understanding the structure of the exam, including the number of sections, and the topics covered in the syllabus. Gathering study materials in a compile form is always a tedious task. So, this coaching will help students to acquire the necessary study materials such as textbooks, reference books, solved study material and previous years' question papers to aid their preparation. This approach will help students to Keep themselves updated with current affairs and educational developments, especially in the field of education and plan study schedule that allows them to cover all the topics within the available time. Taking some mock tests to improve time management and test-taking skills as well to identify strengths and areas that needed improvement.On the part of students.
