Objectives

Duties and Responsibilities of the Admission Committee

1. Policy Development and Review:
o Formulate and periodically review admission policies, criteria, and procedures.
o Ensure policies comply with legal and accreditation standards and reflect the institution's mission and values.
2. Application Review and Selection:
o Evaluate applications based on academic achievements, extracurricular activities, personal statements, recommendation letters, and other relevant criteria.
o Make admission decisions while considering the college's enrollment goals, diversity targets, and program capacities.
3. Outreach and Recruitment:
o Develop and execute recruitment strategies to attract a diverse pool of applicants.
o Collaborate with marketing and communication teams to create promotional materials and campaigns.
o Attend college fairs, high school visits, and other recruitment events to engage with potential applicants.
4. Data Management and Analysis:
o Maintain accurate records of applicants and admission decisions.
o Analyze data to assess the effectiveness of recruitment strategies and admission policies.
o Provide reports and insights to college leadership for informed decision-making.
5. Communication and Support: o Provide clear and timely information to applicants about the admission process, deadlines, and requirements.
o Offer guidance and support to applicants throughout the admission process.
o Communicate admission decisions to applicants in a respectful and considerate manner.
6. Collaboration with Other Departments:
o Work closely with academic departments, financial aid, student services, and other relevant units to ensure a holistic admission process.
o Coordinate with faculty and staff to understand program-specific admission requirements and criteria.

Follow-Ups and Continuous Improvement

1. Post-Admission Analysis:
o Review and analyze admission outcomes, including enrollment yield, diversity statistics, and academic performance of admitted students.
o Identify trends, strengths, and areas for improvement in the admission process.
2. Feedback Collection:
o Gather feedback from applicants, admitted students, and other stakeholders to assess the admission process.
o Conduct surveys and focus groups to understand applicant experiences and expectations.
3. Annual Reporting:
o Prepare and present annual reports on admission activities, outcomes, and future plans to college leadership.

4. Policy and Procedure Updates:

o Provide ongoing training and professional development for admission committee members and staff.
o Stay updated on best practices, legal requirements, and trends in college admissions.
6. Engagement with Alumni and Current Students:
o Involve alumni and current students in recruitment and outreach activities.
o Leverage their experiences and success stories to attract and inspire prospective applicants.
